Weekend Writing Warriors #79

Hi and welcome to this week's Eight sentences. Today I am continuing with eight from my new release, 'Fevered Kisses' an anthology of lust. This week I am starting right at the beginning of the fifth story 'Some Time Away'.

                                  MY EIGHT:
Melanie slapped the dashboard with her left hand.
“Damn! Why did l come this way? It’s always the bloody same!”
She ran her right hand through her auburn curls and stared at the queue of traffic in front of her. She was going to be late. Late for what? She pondered.

  7. We can all relate to that. Hate traffic and you always get stuck in it at the worst possible time.

Late for what??? She's headed somewhere, but it sounds like she's not sure what she'll find once she gets there. Great opening.

  9. I'm going to guess she knows where she's going, but she's not sure it's worth it to get there. Hopefully she's not driving around with amnesia.
